All Access: A Music Photography Intensive with Jeremy Saffer – April 23 – 24, 2022
Join Photographer Jeremy Saffer for an in-person, two-day, music photography intensive at the Leica Store in Boston.
Go behind the lens, lights, and mind of twenty-year rock and celebrity portrait photographer Jeremy Saffer and get a glimpse into the world of music, celebrity, and entertainment photography. Through sharing both his creative process to his business practice, Jeremy will guide you through all aspects of what it takes to be successful as a music photographer today.
Students will get the unique opportunity to not only learn everything Jeremy has to teach about being a photographer in the music industry, but also a chance to apply everything they’ve learned.
On day two, we will turn the Leica Gallery Boston into a photo studio and the focus will be on shooting. After having the chance to observe Jeremy’s approach to working with a band, it will be your turn to create images. Jeremy will provide each student an editorial and commercial assignment. The workshop will conclude with Jeremy will be giving each student a critique of the work they have produced.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Anyone with an interest in portrait photography and lighting will gain much from this program. Music photographers looking to get into music portraiture. Any photographers who want the chance to photography a band using professional lighting in a studio setting.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
Having a basic understanding of photography, camera settings, and being familiar with your camera is important. Students must be able to operate their camera’s menu navigation and button system on their own. Knowledge of photography basics & understanding of the exposure triangle required. Students do not need any prior lighting experience. Owning a Leica is NOT required. All camera brands are welcome. There will be a limited selection of Leica gear available for attendees to use.
All participants attending this workshop will be required to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination. This requirement applies to students and instructors.

Since 2004, Jeremy Saffer has been photographing the world of music, movies, and pop culture in his iconic look. Utilizing his natural gift for alternative flair, he creates images and looks for clients that truly make the subject shine with star appeal. His portfolio extends to the covers and inside the pages of international publications such as Kerrang, Revolver, Metal Hammer, Alternative Press, Guitar World, Outburn, and countless others.
Many entertainers trust Jeremy with their iconic imagery. Artists in the hard rock and metal genres such as Alice Cooper, Metallica, Slayer, Korn and Megadeth as well as contemporary heavyweights Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Ghost, Bring Me the Horizon have all been photographed by Jeremy. He has also done photography forMovie and TV legends like A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Walking Dead, Hellraiser, A Clockwork Orange’s Malcolm McDowell and just to name a few.
Saffer has been enlisted by both publications and the talent themselves, providing eye-popping album covers for the likes of Killswitch Engage and A Day To Remember, producing multiple A-list print series projects and gaining millions of YouTube views from music videos he has directed with In This Moment, Buckcherry, members of Rob Zombie and New Years Day.
For the past 10+ years, Jeremy has held seminars and workshops across the United States encouraging droves of budding photographers and helping tomorrow’s visual artists develop a style of their own.
