Have you ever wondered wanted to be almost famous? To have the opportunity to photograph some of today’s greatest bands and most popular celebrities. If so, please join Jeremy Saffer as he gives us a glimpse into the world of entertainment portrait photography.

Go behind the lens, lights, and mind of 20-year rock and celebrity portrait photographer Jeremy Saffer as he teaches you everything there is to know about being a photographer in the music industry.

In this two-day intensive program, you will learn everything that goes into the creative and business process. Jeremy will guide you along the way so you will understand all aspects of the business. From getting shoots to working with the talent to editing for publication and much more.

All of Day 2 will be dedicated to shooting. We will turn the Leica Gallery into a photo studio. You will be photographing a band and will be given editorial and commercial assignments. 

Day 2 Will conclude with edits & reviews from the shooting session.  Jeremy will be giving each student a critique of the work they have produced during this workshop.

Anyone looking to take their portrait photography to the next level with lighting techniques. Any music photographers looking to get into music portraiture. Any photographers who want the chance to do a photo shoot with a band using professional lighting in a studio setting. Students will get the unique opportunity to not only learn everything Jeremy has to teach about being a photographer in the music industry, but also a chance to apply everything they’ve learned.


Having a basic understanding of photography, camera settings, and being familiar with your camera is important. Students do not need any prior lighting experience. All cameras are welcome and there will be a limited selection of Leica gear available for attendees to use.

Enrollment is limited to 12 participants.

All participants attending this workshop will be required to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination. This requirement applies to students, staff, and instructors.


Since 2004, Jeremy Saffer has been photographing the world of music, movies, and pop culture in his iconic look.  Utilizing his natural gift for alternative flair, he creates images and looks for clients that truly make the subject shine with star appeal. His portfolio extends to the covers and inside the pages of international publications such as Kerrang, Revolver, Metal Hammer, Alternative Press, Guitar World, Outburn, and countless others.

Many entertainers trust Jeremy with their iconic imagery.  Artists in the hard rock and metal genres such as Alice Cooper, Metallica, Slayer, Korn and Megadeth as well as contemporary heavyweights Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Ghost, Bring Me the Horizon have all been photographed by Jeremy. He has also done photography forMovie and TV legends like A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Walking Dead, Hellraiser, A Clockwork Orange’s Malcolm McDowell and just to name a few.

Saffer has been enlisted by both publications and the talent themselves, providing eye-popping album covers for the likes of Killswitch Engage and A Day To Remember, producing multiple A-list print series projects and gaining millions of YouTube views from music videos he has directed with In This Moment, Buckcherry, members of Rob Zombie and New Years Day.

For the past 10+ years, Jeremy has held seminars and workshops across the United States encouraging droves of budding photographers and helping tomorrow’s visual artists develop a style of their own.
