Workshop philosophy and group size
This trip will be limited to 10 photographers. The objective of the Leica Akademie is to celebrate photography of all kinds through real-world shooting experiences that help you discover your vision and point of view. We believe that people learn best in small groups, outside of a classroom, where content can be customized on the fly and casual conversations often bring the biggest revelations.
Who should take this workshop?
This workshop is designed for photographers interested in all aspects of landscape photography. Photographers of all experience levels are welcome. Our small class size allows us to tailor the program to your needs. However, all students should have a fundamental understanding of camera operation, including: shutter, aperture, and ISO, is expected.
Use of Leica photographic equipment is not required. We will have a selection of Leica cameras available for your use.
This Journey starts at noon, May 28th, 2018 and concludes at noon June 1st, 2018. A detailed itinerary will be provided in the weeks before the workshop.
Accommodations and Dining:
Lodging will be provided at the historical Hacienda del Sol, a luxurious bed and breakfast, offering beautiful views of the mountains, unique southwestern rooms featuring private baths with handmade Talverna sinks and tiles, and made-to-order breakfasts each morning. Set against the backdrop of Tao Mountain, the Hacienda is located minutes from the Taos Plaza and Taos Pueblo, giving us photography locations at our doorstep.
Each evening, we will dine at some of the best examples of Spanish and Native American cuisine in the US. Afterwards, guests are invited to lounge in the many cafes, work on the day’s photographs, or “talk-shop” with other students. All meals are included with your workshop.
Spouse or Partner Rate:
We have a spouse, partner or friend rate of $350 that allows you to bring a companion along for the trip. Guests are invited to join us for group meals and the slideshow concluding the trip. Photography instruction is NOT included in this rate. If you are interested in adding someone to your registration, after you register, please contact us at email@example.com
